St. John is delivering Meals on Wheels two weeks in March.

Contact the church office if you're interested in helping out. It takes about 30 minutes each day. If you are a student looking for silver cord hours and community service credit - spring break week is a perfect time to carve out some time to serve people in your community. |

| Parents' Bible Study |
| |
|
St. John moms and dads - we will be starting a new parents' bible study in April. It will be held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 5pm. We will be talking about Creating an Atmosphere of Grace in parenting. There will be child care during this time as well. If you would like to know more about this please contact Melinda King or Jeanne Hansen.

St. John's book club will meet Monday, February 25. In the Fireside Room at 7:00 p.m. We will discuss this month's book Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall

| College students |
| |
|
Deadlines for college tuition assistance from St. John are approaching. Students attending a Lutheran college in the 2013 - 2014 school year who would like to receive an EPIC grant must notify the church by May 1. St. John scholarship applications for non-Lutheran colleges can be picked up in the office or a copy can be e-mailed to you and that deadline is March 1. You can e-mail the church office here.

Our night time ministries, rehearsals, and meetings are very appreciative of the new parking lot lights that are now installed. These new LED eco friendly lights are energy efficient and provide an extra element of security and safety as our flock comes and goes.

| Easter family activity |
| |
|
Families mark your calendars for an Easter family activity on March 23 from 9 am - 11 am including an egg hunt. The Family board is asking the congregation for donations of small, individually wrapped candy that can fit into plastic Easter eggs for this Easter Family activity
. Candy can be brought to the church office. |

| Lent offering / Easter Lilies |
| |

During this Lenten season we ask as part of your seasonal discipline you consider an extra gift of at least a dollar a day during the approximately 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter.
If you would like to contribute toward the Easter lilies for Easter Sunday please mail or drop off your contribution to the church office by March 25.

| Wisconsin Dells |
| |

St. John is heading to the Wisconsin Dells during Spring Break. All 6-12 grade students are invited to come on a 3-day adventure to the Wilderness Water Park and Resort during spring break. We will leave on Sunday, March 10 and come back Tuesday, March 12. The trip will include a stay at a hotel, Bible studies, lots of water rides, all meals, an arcade, and maybe even some mini-golf and laser tag. The approximate cost of this trip is $75. A sign-up sheet is in the church office. If you have questions, please contact Mr. Hoefer at 330-4456 or e-mail him at erik@stjohncharlescity.org. It's going to be a blast! |

| February / March Youth events |

February 22, 6:00-9:00 p.m. - Game night at Melinda's house, There will be a variety of board games. All youth 6-12 grade are welcome. Please bring friends! Sign up outside of Melinda's office.
March 22 we will be going to a Waterloo Blackhawk's game. We will meet at church to have pizza together before we leave for the game. The game will start at 7:00 p.m. The cost will be $7 per ticket. This is open to all ages! Sign up outside of Melinda's office.
March 23 The First Baptist Church is hosting a Christian dodge ball event open to all churches. It will be at the YMCA from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. and is for 6th - 8th grade students. Food will be provided & there is no cost. Sign-up by March 10 outside Melinda's office.
